Our first collaboration with Chicago-based artist, Theaster Gates, resulted in the design and assembly of a pavilion for his installation "Cosmology of Yard". As part of the Whitney Biennial, the project transformed the courtyard at the Whitney Museum from February 25th through May 30th "as a communal gathering space for performances, social engagement, and contemplation."
The "ware-boards" that make up the pavilion and the surrounding ground cover were reclaimed from an inner-city Chicago chewing gum factory.
