This Southwest Michigan winery is the latest hospitality project by Middle Brow, a Chicago-based maker of beer, pizza, baked goods, ice cream and more recently, wine. The plan includes four structures that will support a cafe/restaurant, wine production, crush pad and a pavilion framed within a naturalistic prairie landscape.
As part of a growing midwest wine region, the location allows for more sustainable winemaking practices given the proximity to nearby vineyards. The project builds upon this sustainable effort through adaptive re-use, on-site water management, a simple material palette and efficient energy systems.
Year: WIP
Scale: 6,000 SF
Location: Sawyer, MI
